For many with learning disabilities or brain injury, it is helpful to learn or relearn spelling words in three dimensional space. This technique can reinforce letters and word sequences in a more tangible way.
Problem
Traditional methods for spelling words three dimensionally are cumbersome, slow and hard to transport. There are no digital tools for quickly viewing problematic words in daily life.
Solution
Spelling Space is an accessible application for quickly viewing problem words in 3D space.

Speller 3D: A spelling tool for people with learning disabilities and brain injury. Experience and Interface design.
Spelling words with clay can help reinforce letter sequences for people with Dysgraphia.
Wireframe: A rough concept prioritizes quickly finding and viewing problem words as three dimensional objects. Spelling lists can be created, but words are treated as spaces to be explored rather than an order to be memorized.
Everything is a prototype. A cycle of rapid concept testing refines the flow, structure and visual design.
Accessible Interface: Because the intended audience for this tool has a high rate cognitive and visual disabilities, accessible interface design is of paramount importance.
An accessible library of variable components adds consistency across the application.

Challenge
Boston Scientific location in Shoreview MN needed flexible space that emphasized the facilities contribution to Advancing Science for Life while also providing a place for employees to relax and rejuvenate between shifts.
Result
Rejuvenation and relaxation is at the heart of the Winning Culture Lounge. The space provides an escape for employees during a busy work day while also emphasizing the companies commitment to quality.
My Role
As a Design Intern at Liqua6 I conducted initial discovery and research, created initial concept art and 3D renderings, and delivered final designs for display manufactures.
Darkly beautiful and deeply disorienting. Escape the twisting chambers of the Creatures Crypt in this atmospheric game of visual psychology.
